Preventing Users from Editing Their Names
Updated 4 months ago

Overview

An identity provider (IdP) is typically the source of truth for user profile information, especially first name, last name, and email address. As users log into NovoEd using single sign-on (SSO), the identity provider sends NovoEd the user's first name, last name, and email address. This information is updated in the user's profile each time they sign in with SSO. Because a user's name is sent by the IdP, it is standard practice that organizations lock users' ability to update their name.

Directions

To disable or enable users' ability to update their first and last names

  1. Log into NovoEd as an Org Admin.
  2. Select the Org Admin wrench icon in the left-hand side panel.
  3. In the Organization Admin Tools menu, select ADVANCED SETTINGS.
