How to Add a Discussion
To add a Discussion Topic within a content page (lesson page), first make sure that you are in Edit Mode, and have opened the component menu by selecting "Add."
From the component menu, select "Discussion"
You may choose a member of the Teaching Team to be the "Discussion Starter" and be sure to include both the Discussion Title and Prompt. You may then choose an already existing topic, or create a new topic directly in the modal More on discussions here.
Once you have filled out the modal, select "Create."
Best Practice Tip: Make it show as a to-do for learners
You can click on the checkmark that appears next to the embedded discussion to mark it as a to-do. You will know that it has been marked as such once it appears in orange.
This will then add participation in this discussion to the learner's To Do list.
There are two different display options:
"Show this discussion"
or to "Collapse this discussion" into a little comment icon:
