Assignment deadlines are designed to help set the pace for our learners to successfully complete our courses on time. Some assignments may be set with a soft deadline, which means that individuals and teams can still revise, edit, and submit the assignment after the set deadline until the end of the course. Soft deadlines can be helpful especially if you have missed the deadline but are still working to receive your Statement of Accomplishment.
Hard deadline assignments: If the assignment has a hard deadline, the peer evaluation task will also have a hard deadline. This means you will not be able to revise the assignment during the peer evaluation, but as long as you turn in your assignment within the evaluation period, you will be eligible for a peer evaluation. While hard deadlines are set and less flexible, if you have missed an assignment with a hard deadline - we recommend contacting your teaching team for a late submission permit.
Soft deadline assignments: If the assignment has a soft deadline, then the peer evaluation also has a soft deadline. This means you will have the opportunity to complete the peer evaluation even after the deadline passes.
Please consult your teaching team whether the deadline approaching is soft or hard one.
You can notice the difference in the look for assignments with soft and hard deadlines below. For assignments with hard deadlines, they will have a red timer icon next to their due date when they appear on the Dashboard.
On the course homepage, hard deadlines will be colored in red, while soft deadlines are colored in grey.
