Course administrators and instructors have the ability to add and edit widgets to the course homepage. Widgets are a great way to highlight important information and are highly customizable.
To create a new or edit an existing widget, visit the Dashboard and select "Course Homepage" at the bottom left.
Under the "Homepage Widgets" section, you will see a list of existing widgets with available actions to the right to either edit or delete the widget.
By clicking the (+Add Widget) button at the bottom, you will be prompted to fill in the desired Title and Body. Widgets will be displayed in the order of creation at the bottom of the Homepage.
Make sure to click "Submit" to save your changes.
Here are some examples of widgets that are often included in courses:
- Help Widget
- A help widget helps inform learners what to do when they need help. It will often have a link to discussions and let learners know which member of the teaching team they should reach out to.
- Other Widgets
- Other widgets can include other highlighted information only relevant for a short period of time, such as a news article link, or embedding information like a course participant map.
