The NovoEd platform offers two ways to track your progress in a course. Your teaching team will have selected whichever option is most appropriate for their program!
1. The "Start Learning" Button
This button, viewable from the course homepage, is available in all courses. It will take you to the first course component.
Thereafter — after visiting your first lecture — the button will display as "Resume Learning" to take you to the last visited course component. Your course timeline will automatically update with the last visited lecture page and will allow you to continue your activities where you last left off.
We recommend that you expand the course components to see what lies ahead in the course.
Additionally, you can visit your Learner Dashboard to view any actions coming up, or things you've missed but can still catch up on.
2. Portable Completion Criteria
The completion criteria ensure learners accomplish their milestones that constitute learning, while providing the autonomy of asynchronous learning within a cohort or at their own pace. The feature starts out as a single progress bar when a single completion data is recorded and gradually displays additional components when progress data is available that learners can use to track their To-Do’s and quickly access them when needed.
You can find the completion criteria on the homepage of a NovoEd course. Learners will no longer lose track of their completion status, while going through all the content and activities, then realizing they have not made any course progress required for completion.
If your teaching team has selected this option, your progress is tracked and displayed from the course homepage and in your lesson pages. This bar highlights and distinguishes the various criteria required to complete the course that your teaching team has enabled. This can involve any combination of points, assignments, and "To-dos."
We encourage you to regularly revisit your progress throughout the duration of the course. By hovering your mouse over each completion component (points, assignments, to-dos, or a combination of the components presented by your teaching team), you will be able to track exactly how much of each component you have completed.
For further details on what remains to be completed, click on any component to trigger a drop-down list of all requirements to complete the course. The check-marks on the drop-down list indicate exactly what you have already completed, and what you have yet to complete. Note that if your teaching team has set a later release date for your assignments, you will have to wait to access its details.
When you have completed all the course requirements, you will automatically receive your certificate of completion. Learn more How to Access your Statement of Accomplishment. Congratulations!
