NovoEd offers a modern, simple rich text editing experience to learners that allows them to visually express their ideas in public discussion forums and on assignments.
How it works:
1. Commenting in a Discussion
When participating in a public discussion forum, you are offered three options in a toolbar that appears on the left-hand side of the rich text editor:
The options in the toolbar allow you to:
- Upload a media file either by dragging and dropping files or selecting the “cloud” icon
- Insert a bulleted list
- Insert a numbered list
Hyperlinking and Further Edits:
If you would like to further customize your text, you can trigger a pop-up toolbar by highlighting it:
You can then select any number of the following options available in the pop-up toolbar:
- Change font color
- Change font highlight color
- Adjust font style
- Align text to the left or center
- Hyperlink
- Highlight

It is worth noting that the Rich Text Editor is not available in team or group workspaces. For more information on navigating the workspace, follow this link.
2. Submitting an Assignment:
The Rich Text Editor for assignments functions similarly to discussion forums.
The primary difference with assignments is that, here, you will be immediately prompted to drag and drop files, but will not see the option to insert bulleted and/or numbered lists until you click on the editor:
If you would rather start typing right away and upload files later, simply click on the editor and make changes as needed:
